Major Tour Withdrawls.
So it’s almost been half a year ALREADY since my last tour with Fake Problems. We had a rockin good summer on the Van’s Warped Tour.
Needless to say, even though it’s been roughly the same amount time off from 2009’s summer tour to warped ‘10, I find myself lately having some MAJOR withdrawls from being out on the open road with good people and great friends.
...
DONE-ZO!
So I finally have all of my “tour diaries” safely stored here on Tumblr. Once again, I apologize for all the spamming. It’s like 30+ posts. Whew, it was fun going through em again though.
I still can’t thank Fake Problems enough for 2009 and taking me on Warped Tour last year. Some of the greatest moments of my life were shared with this great band and I’m forever...
July 12, 2009. Going home. End of tour.
EDIT: Due to a loss in the great Fake Problems family, we had to cancel the second half of the summer 2009 tour.
So that’s that, and I’m coming home. I currently have another 23 hours on the train itself so I also figured i’d fill you guys in on what the rest of the tour was like. The last show in Toronto went very well at a place called Sneaky Dee’s. The only odd...
July 7, 2009. Tour Update!!!
Hello to all!!!
So, it’s been a good while since I last posted something and I’m sure some of you are pretty curious to know what’s been going on :p So let’s rewind. Over the past few days we’ve had some good shows, great shows, and ok shows as well. I’m thinking right now, the best show we’ve had yet was in Boston. We played at the Middle East...
Jun 28, 2009. Summer Tour Chapter 3: Chapel Hill,...
This morning I awoke to Taylor whispering me to get ready haha. It’s weird how when you know that you hafta be up and ready for the next day’s travel that you’ll wake up to almost anything including whispers. We weren’t able to stay long and bid farewell to Aunt Sue as we piled into the van to head towards North Carolina. Taylor is from NC and had lots of friends and...
Jun 27, 2009. Summer Tour Chapter 2: Atlanta,...
In the morning, we all woke up in our room as Casey switched on the tube and found that Jaws was on. We started watching as everyone got ready and once everyone was good to go, we hit the road. We needed to make a stop by Kinko’s so we could print out our day sheets for the tour, so we stopped by shortly after departing. A few of the guys went to eat as I went to Kinko’s with DP...
June 25, 2009. Summer Tour Chapter 1: Columbia,...
Day One of the Fake Problems summer tour 2009 is officially in the books and I’m here to give you the inside scoop once again of everything that’s happening! Let’s rewind just a bit to the 21st. We threw another fun party at my house so that all of my friends could gather and celebrate me going off on tour again. I got super drunk and attempted to stay up all night since my...
May 6, 2009 Final Chapter of Spring Tour: Day Off...
As the tour is beginning to die down for your’s truly, the last few chapters may be a little on the minimal side, especially todays and tomorrow’s since they’re off days. Anyways, today we were actually awoken by the green team who came banging on the door asking why we weren’t up yet. Turns out they didn’t give us a wake up call. So we got ready quickly and piled...
May 5, 2009. Chapter 28: Scottsdale, Arizona
This morning we woke up earlier than I was hoping. The guys were up and talking with Nancy about the upcoming tours and such. She was off to do her things and we packed our things and off we went to Arizona. We had a good 7 hour drive ahead of us including pit stops for gas and food. It wasn’t even into our 2nd hour before we started to reach the desert. DP was piloting, myself,...
May 4, 2009. Chapter 27: San Diego, California
Today I woke up on the couch alone listening to every ask each other what happened to the girl that came back with us last night. I prepared myself and got up to face the barrage of questions as to what happened between us on the couch last night. Sometimes it just seems too hard to explain that hanging out and cuddling was all that happened. No kissing, no sex. In hindsight, I probably ...
May 3, 2009. Chapter 26: Hollywood, California
Today we had to wake up a little bit early again and had yet another long day ahead of us. I felt a little draggy but finally drug myself out of my yet again deflated mattress. I’m so sleeping on a couch or an unmanned bed tonight… Around 11, we piled in the van and took off to UC in Riverside for their annual Spring Splash. Upon our arrival we saw our stage which was a side...
May 2, 2009. Chapter 25: San Clemente, California
I hate air mattresses. No matter what air mattress I sleep on, it always ends up half way deflated when I wake up. You can feel the floor and the rest of you is all unbalanced… prolly the most uncomfortable thing in the world… Not only that, but we got in late late last night. We had to drive 3 hours from the venue to Casey Lee’s parents house. Upon our arrival, we piled...
May 1, 2009. Chapter 24: San Luis Obispo,...
Today was a pretty swell day. I awoke on an air mattress that I don’t recall falling asleep on in someone’s house that I don’t quite know haha. I awoke to some of the guys hanging out when Dan told me that we were pretty close to the venue so we could actually continue to get some rest. Sounded like a great idea but I was also awake already. So instead I just laid back down,...
Apr 30, 2009. Chapter 23: San Francisco,...
This morning, we woke up to everyone freakin out about being late to Cali today, so we packed in a hurry (Team Awesome) and waited for the Green Team to wake up…
We made a stop at a store/McDonalds to get some breakfast and refreshments and off went went to Cali! We drove through a lot of mountains and the scenery continued to blow my mind with every mile. Right before getting to...
Apr 29, 2009. Chapter 22: Day Off Drive to Wells,...
This morning we woke up a bit later than we were hoping to. We set out immediately and filled up on gas across the street from a record store. I still have yet to find a copy of Against Me!’s “Crime” on vinyl, but I did get myself a copy of the new NOFX CD… just don’t have any way of listening to it… After our first stop, we made another for lunch where most...
Apr 28, 2009. Chapter 21: Denver, Colorado
This morning we awoke in our badass Ramada beds and turns out, I missed the free continental breakfast. :( We took off for yet, another looong drive to Denver. Along the way I pulled up a map on my phone to see where we were in location to Denver. Having never traveled out of Texas like this, I’ve never really paid much attention to where certain cities lie in their respective states. I...
Apr 27, 2009. Chapter 20: Day Off Drive to...
Woke up this morning to almost everyone already packed and ready to go. We got our stuff packed and were soon on our way to the next interstate. Today was Dan’s birthday as well! We weren’t on the road very long before making our breakfast stop at Dunkin Donuts. Afterward, honestly, most of the day we drove and I myself got caught up on lots and lots of sleep. We stopped for lunch ...
Apr 26, 2009. Chapter 19: Chicago, Illinois
This morning I awoke to Chris just barely calling my name and explaining where the van was before taking off downstairs. Touring sure does train you to wake up when you’re supposed to after you’ve been at it for awhile no matter how much sleep you’ve had. Last night, JB ending up crashing out hardcore in the van. He had been running off of 3 hours of sleep all day and was the...
Apr 25, 2009. Chapter 18: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Today started off waaaaaay early. We needed to move the van off of the curb this morning so the city’s road sweepers could get their job done. We ended up crashing at one of Casey’s friend’s place. There wasn’t really much room at all, just a futon and small floor space. Casey ended up crashing with his friend while the other guys decided to sleep in the van leaving...
Apr 23, 2009. Chapter 17: Cambridge, Massachusetts
It’s sounding like we may be going back to DP’s cousin’s place again tonight so I’m gonna get this posted now so as to avoid having to do it tomorrow due to no service. It had gotten a bit colder outside here in Erving and for whatever reason after getting a little sleep I managed to wake up to everyone already getting their things together. I packed my stuff and went...
Apr 23, 2009. Chapter 16: Hartford, Connecticut
Today, we leave NYC behind us and start our journey out west. First however, we need to make a stop for the people in Hartford, Connecticut. Poor JB volunteered to drive to Connecticut because the place was only 2 hours away but keep in mind he was out until 4:30 last night drinking all night. 2 hours later… We’re still in traffic and have only made a stop for food at ...
Apr 22, 2009. Chapter 15: New York City, New York
I woke up this morning to everyone getting dressed and ready to go out and grab some grub and other misc stuff. I stayed in while everyone but DP went out. That guy sure loves his 360 :p Once everyone got back, taking traffic into consideration, we decided to take off to the Knitting Factory. We ended up arriving there around 4:30 and by the time we unloaded it was about 5:00. We didn’t...
Apr 21, 2009. Chapter 14: Day off in New York
I awoke this morning to Chris asking me if I would like to go with some of the guys to meet up with, Mark Mercado (manager of Paramore) and possible manager candidate for the guys for lunch. I got ready and we went outside of Cait’s place and found it to be slightly drizzling and kinda cold. We piled into Cait’s car and she took us up the street to meet up with Mark. The lunch...
Apr 20, 2009. Chapter 13: Hoboken, New Jersey
this morning i awoke from my loooong sleep in after a kickass evening last night. no hangover, i’m stoked! everyone was chillin and talking about getting some brunch. i wasn’t hungry so i stayed in with DP. while he played his call of duty 4, i watched me some scrubs and posted the blog this morning about everything that happened last night. once everyone came back, we were on our...
Apr 19, 2009. Chapter 12: Poughkeepsie, New York
This morning we woke up at our friend, Francis’ house and ended up sleeping in a little late only to hear that load in was about 3 hours away… and so were we to our destination. So we got our things together pretty quick and said goodbye to Francis and off we were to New York! On the way there, we drove through New Jersey and stopped at another Wawa store. Wawa is basically a...
Apr 17, 2009. Chapter 11: West Chester,...
So from day to day, I try to make it a habit to not look in my calender to see where we’re headed next so it’s always a surprise but I knew today that we were headed to West Chester. I was pretty stoked about it! For those that may not know me too well, or do for this matter, you may know that I’m not supporting of what MTV has become over the years. But every now and then,...
Apr 17, 2009. Chapter 10: Balimore, Maryland
Woke up this morning in another house provided by road friends of Fake Problems. DP fired up the 360 right away as the rest of got ready to go find an Urban Outfitters. After everyone messed with Derek a bit, we all took off to town and found an outdoor mall. Casey needed to get some new pants and such for his hot date tonight! Sean’s clothes bag is still in Atlanta, so he just NEEDS ...
Apr 15, 2009. Chapter 9: Richmond, Virginia
Maaaaan. It sure was nice sleeping in today! I woke up today without having to BE woken up around 1:30 or so. The only person disappointed by not taking off early was Lindsay because our next stop is her hometown and she has good friends flying in just to see her. Once we were all ready and packed back up, we all headed to the van and bid farewell to Derek’s parents. I hopped in the...
Apr 15, 2009. Chapter 8: Wilmington, North...
This morning after absorbing the last bit of Aunt Sue’s hospitality, we set off to continue our adventure up north and were now on our way to the Carolinas. Our first stop, since we were all up pretty early was to catch some McDonald’s breakfast! Mmmmm! We had a good 4 hour drive ahead of us so most of us took naps in the van and I listened to my iPod through most of South...
Apr 14, 2009. Chapter 7: Atlanta, Georgia
Today started out kinda muggy. It had rained a little overnight. First thing waking up, JB and I started to watch Yes Man while everyone else took their showers. DP had already fired up the 360 and was goin to town on some Call of Duty 4 and GTA IV. About an hour later Sean, Dan, Casey, Cait, Chris and I all went to have some brunch out at the local Waffle House. Upon our return to the house,...
Apr 12, 2009. Chapter 6: Day off in Atlanta,...
helloooooo everyone! so unfortunately, there’s nothing really awesome to post today. we spent last night in a hotel and split up into 3 rooms: Chris and Cait - Team SPICE Derek, Dan, Casey, & Sean - GREEN Team haha and then there was JB, Lindsay and myself - Team AWESOME FTW w00t! van call was at 10:30 so i woke up to JB coming in the room with some complimentary coffees for...
Apr 12, 2009. Chapter 5: Jacksonville, Florida
After getting absolutely no sleep at all on the floor of the next apartment, John, Lindsay, Sean, Cait, Chris and I all went to a place called Bagels Unlimited. After having a nice brunch, we picked up Derek and Casey and then proceeded to drive to the band’s favorite clothing store, american appearal. Some of the guys got some new clothes and then we headed back to the apartment. Once...
Apr 11, 2009. Chapter 4: Orlando, Florida
What. A. Day. It’s really only day 2 of the actual tour and right now sitting on a balcony under the moon over Gainesville, I’m only beginning to realize just how lucky I am to be here.
First, let’s recap the day. A few of us stayed at a friend’s place in Tampa and woke up to a bird that had flown in through the chimney terrorizing everyone in the house. Eventually,...
Apr 9, 2009. Chapter 3: Tampa, Florida
This morning I awoke around 7 o’clock. I don’t know why :( …but Eric’s mom was cooking some breakfast and it was smelling extremely delicious! I got up and drank some xango juice and brushed my teeth only to see that everyone else was still fast asleep. So I went back to my room and messed with my phone for awhile (I need a laptop). Finally a couple of the guys...
Apr 8, 2009. Chapter 2: Day Off. Driving Day
Today we woke up around 8:30 in a Motel 6 (yes, they left the light on). Overall a good sleep and I felt pretty revitalized after a long day in crazy Louisiana.
A couple of the guys got ready early and hung out in the van while TJ, Mike, Rob and myself hung out in our room and watched Jerry Springer. Around 10 or so, we took off and go get some grub, some Thai cuisine :). We sat around...
Apr 8, 2009. Chapter 1: Metairie, LA
This morning, I awoke to some pretty frigid temperatures at Mike Wiebe’s place in Austin. I along with TJ (TM), Chris, Mike, Rob & Ian packed our stuff and took off to pick up Eric and Fadi. We left Austin around 6 and drove on into the rising Texas sun. Needless to say, I don’t sleep too often in cars so I was awake most of the drive and after a few pit stops for gas and...
Operation blog transfer: commence.
Over the next hour(s) or so, I’ll be going over my old MySpace blog and transferring my blog posts from Fake Problems 2009 tours I wrote here to tumblr so I can hold onto the memories and finally get rid of lame old MySpace. Sorry in advance for all the dashboard spamming but maybe some of you will get a kick out of all the stories. :)
Disclaimer: Tour stories/dashboard spamming later...
Hey folks,
So in an attempt to get my extremely scattered ONLINE life in order I’ve been making lots of changes account-wise. I’ve moved all contacts etc. etc. to a new clean and PRIMARY (and hopefully) only account I’ll ever need again. That account being: joshmassie87@gmail.com.
The reason for doing so is because I had 4 open e-mail accounts. One I started when the...
Gypsy Life Update: A Year in Review [click] →
This is insanely inspirational. Great things are in store for this year, I can feel it radiating my mind.
sarahsaturday:
I did it.
One year ago, I decided to overturn my life and go out in search of Fulfillment, Love, and Purpose. I decided to sell everything I owned, put the rest in storage, move out of my house, shut down my company, pull the leeches off of my life, and jump off the cliff...
Google Smart Phone For Sale
So, I recently became the happy owner of the new iPhone 4. This phone is so great. It does everything I need it to do, super easy to use and it looks great.
In doing so, I bid farewell to T-Mobile and now I have a deactivated G1 Google phone that I need to get rid of.
2 years ago when this phone was released, I had to make the big choice of purchasing my first smart phone. It was quite the...
